Agile Boot Camp
Course Description
This 2 day course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to actively participate in an agile / iterative managed project to the extent they can define key terms within the methodology and perform the various components as required within each of the project iterations.
The course includes a large hands-on lab component. The participants use a realistic software development scenario as the basis for the required criteria throughout the lab activities.
This course is for those who require fundamental knowledge of agile software development and the skills to actively participate in an agile managed project.
Course Objectives
Day One
- Define agile, scrum and iterative development
- Describe the roles on a scrum team
- Describe the product backlog, sprint backlog, demo & retrospective
- Use a realistic software development project case study to:
- Develop user stories and create the product backlog
- Size and prioritize user stories to create the product backlog
Day Two
- Use a realistic software development project
case study to:- Plan a sprint by populating a sprint backlog
with user stories and associated tasks and effort - Create a release plan for stakeholders
- Participate in a number of stand up meetings
- Participate in a demonstration and retrospective at the end of a
sprint
- Plan a sprint by populating a sprint backlog
- Describe the cycle of maintaining the product backlog and release plan
